The battle of the bling

A tale of two diamonds

Jewelry designer Ivanka Trump was low on flash Wednesday night at the ninth annual Style Awards at Lincoln Center — and she has her 14-month-old daughter, Arabella Rose, to blame.

“Arabella actually helped me get dressed and that’s why my neck is naked — no diamonds tonight,” Trump told Buzz.

Carolina Herrera and Nicole Richie also made appearances, but the most blinged-out babe had to be Alexis Welch, fiancée to New York Knicks basketball star Amar’e Stoudemire, who proudly showed off the 8.5-carat ring on her finger.

Stoudemire, who’s known for his red-carpet swagger, says he still keeps it casual depending on where he is.

“Well, I definitely wouldn’t be wearing a three-piece suit [out in Brooklyn], but some Air Jordans would definitely make the cut,” says the forward.

Looks like he and glamour girl Trump have something in common.

“Of course, I wear sneakers!” says Trump. “I have to give my feet a break. Don’t you?”

Mad Men, Sweet Girls

Kids ruled the runway at the Ralph Lauren Girls show on Madison Avenue Wednesday. But the real belle of the ball was Kiernan Shipka — who plays Sally Draper on “Mad Men” — seated front row in velvet jodhpurs and a red boyfriend blazer. “I was trying to decide whether the outfit’s military chic or equestrian chic, but I’d say more military, especially with the pants and structure of the blazer,” says the 12-year-old Shipka (inset), who’s known to friends as “Kiki.” Can we expect more fashion statements in the sixth season of “Mad Men”? “Totally! Sally Draper definitely needs to pull out her go-go boots again. We haven’t really seen her in major heels yet, so that might be the next step.”

Gossip Girl Gaffe

Looks like Penn Badgley’s publicist might need a refresher course. At the Angelo Galasso presentation at the Plaza Wednesday night, a Buzz reporter asked the scruffy actor (inset) how he felt about “Gossip Girl” ending. His flack, Caryn Leeds, jumped in. “It’s ending?” she asked, flabbergasted.

Badgley replied “yes,” and started mumbling an answer when Leeds interrupted again. “No, no, I don’t like this question.” When he mentioned he’d miss his “trailer” and its “lighting” the most, she simply whisked him away.

Hipsters Diss the New Bea

The Misshapes DJ darlings are ready to party: “We are DJing every single night, and I can tell you that everyone we know [is] ready to go out,” says Misshapes member Geordon Nicol, as he took a break from working Christian Siriano’s Concept store launch on Elizabeth Street. “Everyone’s had a long summer.” The go-to spots on his and leather-clad partner Leigh Lezark’s hit-list? Downtown hangouts Acme and a karaoke party hosted by Le Baron at Standard East tonight, for starters.

One place they won’t be frequenting is Graydon Carter’s new Beatrice Inn, the once legendary nightclub, now restaurant, which is hosting fashion bashes this week.

“No, I’m not really excited,” says Nicol. “I think the essence of Beatrice was [DJ] Paul Sevigny and if he’s not doing it . . .”

“Let things die,” continues Lezark.

“Yeah, let it go, you know?” says Nicol.

I Hate Kate!

“Project Runway” debut winner Jay McCarroll was talking smack about Katie Holmes at the show’s 10th anniversary celebration on Wednesday. Holmes, who has co-designed a range called Holmes & Yang since 2009, is showing for the first time at NY Fashion Week on Wednesday. “It offends me,” he said of Holmes’ fashion aspirations. “It’s like me saying, ‘I want to be a Scientology wife now.’ ” He then directed his rant toward the entire industry: “I’m mad at the fashion people for letting it happen!”
