Lacoste

Lacoste’s creative director, Felipe Oliveira Baptista, is dead set on having everyone see the brand as more than just sportswear and basics. As Lacoste prepares to celebrate its 80th Anniversary, the brand went full speed ahead to do just that with the spring 2013 collection.

While silhouettes were bold (giant parkas, boxy tops, oversized dresses), a lot can be said for the details. Crocodile-embossed leather laminated onto jersey material is definitely worth noting, as well as plastic raincoats that are welded, instead of stitched. There were even dresses and matching shirt and pant sets fully covered in a tiny print of folded polo shirts.

The collection seemed to get its point across, and between the details and the advanced direction of the line, it’s sure to grab the attention of the sporty chic set.
