Cushnie et Ochs didn’t stray far from their already-stellar style: lots of cutouts — at the décolletage, above the stomach, in slits below the bust — mixed with ladylike knee-lengths, and always some tough-girl leather pieces. A parade of whites — in silk crepe, jersey, and georgette — were punctuated by sheer overlay and white embroidery. The black dresses followed the same formula.
And hey, anything here for Mrs. Obama? The first lady wore the young designers’ work last December, much to their delight. As a matter of fact, she’d look great in one of the draped aqua dresses in silk crepe. The material along the neckline and arms was so artfully arranged, it appeared to be floating.
