The mood was very young and fun tonight at Jackie Fraser-Swan’s line, also known as Emerson.
I found myself dancing in my seat as some of my favorite chicks like Robyn and Grimes came on, making tonight feel like more of a party than a runway show.
This line, inspired by ’70s horror films such as “The Amityville Horror” and “Carrie,” displayed very cool hints from that groovy decade such as wrap around braids and Kork-Ease. I was especially happy to see that Kork-Ease teamed up with Emerson creating custom shoes for the show because their shoes rock and I have worn them for many years.
Although this show was ’70s inspired, it also had modern and avant-garde hints with the use of peplum blazers and mis-matched patterns, creating an all around feminine and youthful experience.
Emerson’s Spring runway show was a breath of fresh air, and I am curious to see what Ms. Jackie Fraser-Swan has in store for the future.
