Zero + Maria Cornejo

At first, the neoprene/scuba material was jarring at Maria Cornejo, a designer known for her draping of soft, flowy material. But, as it turned out, scuba material could be draped — rather, sculpted — and the effect was pleasing. She opened with a sculpted navy-blue shrug, followed by another shrug, then a waistcoat/vest and a peacoat — all with a big zipper down the front, in case we missed the point.

Soon enough, some arresting prints emerged — one was black, white, and pink and blue print, inspired by street art on a wall. Jodhpur-like pants made of washed silk were a particular standout, as was a tiered stretch leather ensemble in Easter egg blue with a shrug over a top and knee-length spiral skirt.
