Kerry K. ready for war vs. DA

Kerry Kennedy looks like she’s itching for a fight in court over her driving-while-drugged bust, and prosecutors plan to give her one — using her own words to nail her.

The ex-wife of Gov. Cuomo appeared in a Westchester court yesterday and told a judge that she had hired two new top-notch lawyers, Gerald Lefcourt and William Aronwold, to fend off charges she drove while ability impaired before and after a July 13 highway crash.

But in new court papers, prosecutors showed they’re ready for her — detailing how Kennedy allegedly contradicted herself and acted bizarrely after the crash.

After swerving all over the road in her silver Lexus, smashing into a truck on Interstate 684 and driving wildly for several more miles before barreling off an exit at around 8 a.m., the allegedly loopy Kennedy “stated she believed the damage occurred at the current location,’’ a responding cop said.

“Then she stated she had no idea where it had occurred.”

Then, “She stated that she was not taking any medication . . . She later stated that she takes two medications,’’ Synthroid for her thyroid every morning and the occasional Ambien to help her sleep.

The officer said she got out of her car to see the extensive damage — then “gets back in and puts it in reverse’’ and hit a guard rail.

She was able to recite the alphabet for him — but couldn’t stand on one leg.

An official lab report later showed she had traces of Ambien in her blood.
