His Tiki torch burning low

Talk about “the tribe has spoken.”

Survivor” host Jeff Probst’s new talk show is in trouble after just one week.

Ratings for the new show — which airs at 2 p.m. on Ch. 4 — started out weak and have gone downhill ever since, according to preliminary ratings.

After five days on the air, the show has been averaging less than a 1 rating — considered the rock-bottom minimum for survival in the very competitive syndicated talk-show business.

Already the buzzards are circling.

Representatives for Queen Latifah’s new talk show — set to begin next year — have quietly been calling TV stations around the country offering to take over for Probst as soon as his contract is up, according to sources.

It is rare, though not unheard of, for stations to pull syndicated shows off afternoon TV due solely to poor ratings.

From the beginning, Probst had an uphill battle to get attention for his show in a field crowded with Oprah-wannabes — including Katie Couric and Anderson Cooper.

He’d wanted to do a high-minded show without celebrities or Jerry Springer-type guests — but the audience has, so far, not shown up.

He will continue in his longtime role as host of “ Survivor” no matter what happens to his talk show, he told reporters in August.
