Giulietta

Last season, Florence native Sofia Sizzi turned out clothing that looked like she had designed while in the vaults of the Vatican. But in a major departure, her new collection was filled with enough sexpot, midriff baring designs to entice a priest to abandon his sacred vows all together.

The downtown presentation was dark, serious, solemn and accessed by passing through a heavy black curtain. However, her collection, which was inspired by the sea, was filled with coquettish, embellished bralets, slim cigarette pants, see-through eyelets and oversized netting. Subtle peek-a-boo torso cut-outs sexed up 1940s dresses done in shimmery lame and a black and white print. Sizzi balanced the sweet with the sexy by using eyelet and demure collars and necklines. Paillette embellished dresses amped up the sparkle quotient as did the quirky, playful sunglasses that looked like they had accompanying antlers.
