Keira Knightley goes retro — 19th-century retro — in a shoot for Vogue.
The actress donned the costume as a nod to her role as the title character in the upcoming “Anna Karenina,” an adaptation of the Leo Tolstoy novel.
She tells the magazine’s October issue that she doesn’t always need to do the right thing — on screen.
“I think a lot of people want to play heroic characters, and that’s it,” the 27-year-old beauty says.
“But I don’t find that very compelling. It’s far more interesting to think about characters whose actions don’t always make sense. The fact is, the opposite is always in every decision. And if you look at your own life, and the way you’ve behaved and thought, it won’t always make sense either.”
