Rangel’s unhappy return(s)

The Issue: Rep. Charlie Rangel’s criticism of Romney’s refusal to release more of his tax returns.

***

Rep. Charlie Rangel telling Mitt Romney to come clean about his taxes is almost as laughable as listening to President Obama telling us the same old promises he made in 2008 (“Holy Hypocrisy, Charlie!” Editorial, Sept. 19).

Rangel’s diatribe against Romney about coming clean on the tax returns that he’s “hiding from voters” is the clearest example yet of the Democrats’ complete lack of shame.

Are you kidding me? He is the last person who should ever utter a word about paying income taxes. Louie Rey

It would be different if known criminals like Al Capone and John Dillinger were criticizing each other, but here we have a punished, corrupt Rangel criticizing Romney for hiding his tax returns.

Charges have been brought against Rangel for every kind of shady deal a lifetime politician could pull off.

I think maybe it’s time to remind this crook why he lost his chairmanship of the Ways and Means Committee.

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi might find a way to ease her pal out to pasture. He’s getting embarrassing even for Democrats, if that’s possible.
