MLS: Henry suspended for tonight

Red Bulls captain Thierry Henry has been suspended for tonight’s game at New England and fined an undisclosed amount of money for violent conduct in his team’s game against Sporting KC on Wednesday.

Henry appeared to come up from behind Kansas City forward Kei Kamara during a stoppage in play and hit heads Kamara, who scored his team’s second goal in a 2-0 victory.

Red Bulls coach Hans Backe said he had planned to rest Henry tonight anyway because he did not want him to play on New England’s artificial surface.

An Ohio coroner said Columbus Crew midfielder Kirk Urso died of a genetic defect of the heart and the death was considered natural.

The 22-year-old Urso was pronounced dead in August at Grant Medical Center after collapsing at a downtown Columbus bar and restaurant.

The 76ers named Tony DiLeo their general manager. Entering his 23rd season with the organization, DiLeo, 57, had been the team’s senior vice president.

GRID: Johnson cops domestic plea

In Fort Lauderdale, Fla., former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson has pleaded no contest to a domestic violence charge involving his then-wife, Evelyn Lozada.

Johnson was sentenced to a year’s probation and a counseling course under the plea deal. Johnson, who also must pay Lozada restitution, was cut by the Dolphins shortly after the incident.

In Princeton, N.J., Matt MacZura kicked a 33-yard field goal with 14 seconds left to give Georgetown a 21-20 victory over Princeton.

In Monroe, La., Nick Florence completed 26 of 39 passes for 351 yards and a career-high four touchdowns to help Baylor beat Louisiana-Monroe 47-42 for its ninth straight win.

ETC.: Brewers acquire Torrealba

The Brewers acquired veteran catcher Yorvit Torrealba from Toronto for cash considerations.

In 59 games with the Blue Jays and Rangers this season, the 34-year old Torrealba is batting .233 with four homers and 14 RBIs.

As his team lost to the Dodgers in Cincinnati, Reds manager Dusty Baker missed a third straight game because of an irregular heartbeat. The 63-year-old Baker was hospitalized in Chicago on Wednesday.

Defending champion Lexi Thompson shot a 3-under 69 for a one-stroke lead at the Navistar LPGA Classic in Prattville, Ala. The 17-year-old had a 12-under 132 total .

Mindy Kim and Mi Jung Hur were a stroke back. Each shot 65.
