Meyer: Ohio St. QB more talented than Tebow

Braxton Miller is just a sophomore, but he’s already being compared favorably to Urban Meyer’s best collegiate player.

The Ohio State coach said Miller, his current quarterback, actually has “more talent” than Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow, who won the Heisman Trophy under Meyer at Florida. Tebow won two national titles with the Gators and was a Heisman finalist three times.

“Very similar guys,” Meyer said on his 97.1 The Fan call-in radio show. “They’re both competitive human beings. They’re both very talented people. Braxton has more talent. Tim is probably more of a grinder.”

Miller has 988 combined rushing and passing yards with 12 touchdowns through three games this year. Ohio State is 3-0 coming off a win over Cal.

Tebow has had a reputation of being a winner since his college days. Last year, his second in the NFL, he led the Broncos to the playoffs and beat the Steelers in the wild-card round. This year, he has taken a backup role to Mark Sanchez with the Jets, being brought into games in a Wildcat package.
