WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney whacked China yesterday as a “currency manipulator,” but expatriate supporters for his campaign are set to haul in some donation checks at a fund-raiser in Hong Kong today.
Romney has been hitting the Obama administration on the campaign trail for failing to aggressively confront China’s trade practices and claimed some credit for pressuring the administration into its most recent trade action against the Chinese.
Romney donors in Hong Kong, the world financial center administered by China, have already forked over $385,000 to his campaign. President Obama has raised $84,000 from donors in Hong Kong.
