The failed thief pictured above is wanted in a Sunset Park bank-robbery attempt, police said.

He waltzed into the Chase branch at 5101 Fourth Ave. at 5:30 p.m. on July 17 but was overcome by anxiety and ran off empty-handed when a teller refused to fork over dough.

Anti-Semitic and homophobic graffiti was found scrawled on a schoolyard wall in Midwood, cops said.

The vandalism was discovered at PS 238 on East 8th Street near Avenue P at about 7:30 a.m. Monday, cops added.

There were also crude depictions of the 9/11 terror attacks and a male organ drawn in black marker, cops said.

The disgusting scrawls were photographed and removed, cops added.

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating, cops said.

Manhattan

A bicyclist is fighting for his life after colliding with an Access-A-Ride bus on the Lower East Side, authorities said.

Jonathan Lopez, 26, was biking westbound on Grand Street at about 10:20 p.m. Monday when he collided with the bus crossing Allen Street, cops said.

The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The bus driver remained at the scene. Police said they do not suspect criminality.

Queens

An FDNY firefighter was arrested after he assaulted his brother and then jumped from the third-floor window of the victim’s Flushing residence, law-enforcement sources said.

Michael McGuirk, 46, got into a heated argument with his 45-year-old brother, Matthew, in the home on 40th Avenue home at about 2 p.m. on Sept. 18, sources said.

Angry words turned to violence when Michael allegedly punched Matthew in the face repeatedly.

Then Michael leaped from a window, suffering a compound foot fracture, sources added.

He was taken to North Shore Hospital and, on Tuesday, detectives arrested him on an assault rap, sources said.

Detectives this week apprehended the gunman wanted in the April slaying of an ex-convict in Astoria, cops said.

Tori Burke, 22, was arrested Monday in the fatal shooting of Shaka Ryan, 37, on April 7 at a wine-and-liquor store on 34th Avenue, cops added.

Investigators learned that Ryan, who had done prison time for manslaughter and weapons possession, apparently participated in a home invasion in which Burke was robbed and pistol-whipped, cops said.

The homicide took place in apparent retaliation for the robbery, which had never been reported, cops added.

Burke was charged with murder and weapons possession, records show.

The Bronx

A punk livery-cab passenger tried to rob her driver in Morrisania, authorities said.

Crystal Deas, 32, had asked the victim to take her to various locations after hailing the cab just after midnight on Sept. 19, court papers state.

When she arrived at East 169th Street and Boston Road, Deas allegedly refused to pay and grabbed the driver’s wallet from a door pocket.

He tried to grab back his wallet, only to have Deas bite him on the left wrist, court records add.

She was charged with robbery and assault.

Someone needs to teach these two thieves right from wrong.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the two slinking about the Harriet Tubman Charter School at 3565 Third Ave. at 12:28 a.m. on Sept. 5 and leaving with the loot, police added.

Two goons were busted in an attempted mugging in Woodstock, authorities said.

Joshua Matos, 19, Carlos Chevalier, 20, and an accomplice ambushed the victim on Prospect Avenue near East 156th Street at about 10:40 p.m. on Aug. 29, cops said.

“Take the iPod!” the cohort shouted as Matos and Chevalier allegedly pummeled the victim with their fists.

Matos tried to snatch the iPod while Chevalier, waving a knife, attempted to yank the victim’s hat off his head, court papers state.

The victim fled, and the two thugs were busted on Sept. 10 on charges of attempted robbery, weapons possession and assault, court records show.

Detectives are continuing their search for the partner in crime, cops said.
