Gov. Christie’s job approval ratings stay steady: poll

TRENTON, NJ — A new poll finds Gov. Chris Christie’s job approval ratings are staying steady.

The Monmouth University/Asbury Park Press poll out Thursday finds 53 percent of respondents approve of Christie’s job performance, while 35 percent disapprove. And among registered voters, 55 percent approve of his work, while 36 percent disapprove.

In both cases, Christie’s approval ratings are up slightly from the last poll conducted in July.

Meanwhile, 63 percent of all respondents say they’re not bothered by the way Christie deals with people who disagree with him. But 23 percent say it bothers them a lot and 11 percent say it bothers them a little.

The telephone poll of 805 New Jersey adults was conducted from Sept. 19-23. It has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
