Teen robbed in Bronx syringe stickup — may be work of needle bandit

A 14-year-old boy was robbed at syringe-point aboard a subway train in Manhattan today in another suspected strike by a man wanted in several similar Bronx robberies, police said.

The needle-wielding thug robbed the teen of his cell phone aboard a No. 1 train just as it pulled into West 86th Street, said cops.

The teen handed over the phone and was not harmed.

Cops stopped the train seven stations later, at 145th Street, but the suspect had already fled.

The perp’s description seemed to match that of Angel A. Cintron, 39, who yesterday was identified as the suspect in a series of eight muggings in the Bronx, five of which involved a needle, said sources.

In one of the robberies, on Sept. 14, Cintron allegedly threatened his victim with a knife aboard the 40 bus on East Tremont Avenue.

Detectives today said it’s too early to determine for sure whether Cintron is the suspect behind this morning’s mugging.
