This week’s couple: Good sports

WHEN Michael, 24, met with Allyson, 23, for their date at the Italian eatery Palma, the budding Internet entrepreneur wasn’t expecting her to be well-versed in sports talk. But he soon found out his date could talk as good a game as he. So were things between them a home run, or did they get into foul trouble?

He said:

I arrived at the restaurant about five minutes early because arriving any earlier would be completely uncharacteristic on my part. Luckily for me, Allyson was slightly late, so it balanced out.

It was as if we’ve known each other for longer than we have.

We had a lot in common, and I found out she is a sports fan herself. Any woman who loves sports gets cool points in my book. Unfortunately, she is a fan of Chicago teams.

The venue was really nice. We had the opportunity to eat outside in a garden-like setting with a retractable roof. The food was great.

Allyson was very intelligent and has a lot going for her. We exchanged numbers and I wouldn’t mind hanging out again.

She said:

When I first came to the date, I was excited and nervous, but Mike made me comfortable. He had a nice smile and I could tell from his appearance he was laid-back.

We mainly talked about sports, music, NYC, and our love of Apple products. He also talked about his sports Web site start-up, which was really interesting.

The restaurant led to us having a good time. The ambience was very inviting so we could really have an intimate conversation.

Mike is a really good guy. He is doing something he is passionate about, which is something I don’t see among most people our age. Is this a love connection? Only time will tell, but I would really like to hang out with him again.
