DOE probes vice principal’s car rides and 1,400 texts with female student

It’s nothing to LOL about.

A popular Brooklyn high school assistant principal got overly cozy with an 18-year-old female student — giving her rides in his car and texting her more than 1,400 times in 90 days, city Department of Education officials allege.

They are seeking to give Leon Goldstein HS Assistant Principal Christian Del Re the boot after an investigation found that the pair had been trading more than 32 text messages per day, and calling each other at hours normally reserved for booty calls.

One phone call lasted more than three hours, according to a probe by the Special Commissioner of Investigations.

The probe was launched earlier this year after students reported seeing Del Re playing with the girl’s hair and the girl fondling his shirt and tie before the duo got into his car together and drove off.

The student, who wasn’t identified in the report, said the friendly administrator had driven her to the train station three times from the remote Manhattan Beach school and had driven her home just once.

She denied to investigators that Del Re had ever touched her — or even pawed her hair — and that she had ever touched his shirt or tie.

She claimed that the girl who her ratted them out to school officials was simply spreading rumors because the girl disliked her.

Del Re could not be reached for comment yesterday at his darkened Staten Island home.
