“Sesame Street” star Big Bird appeared on the “Saturday Night Live” segment Weekend Update to wild applause, saying he learned Mitt Romney mentioned him during last week’s presidential debate because “I got a million tweets.”
“So you’re on Twitter?” asked host Seth Meyers.
“No, I’m a bird! Tweeting is how we talk.”
Romney said during the debate that he would do away with tax funding for PBS.
When asked if he wanted to make a political statement, Big Bird said, “I don’t want to ruffle any feathers.”
But he did crack a joke: “Do you know who loves debates? De-fishes.”
