Attacking Mitt’s honesty: Bam camp changes course

The Issue: President Obama’s post-debate rebound strategy of questioning Mitt Romney’s truthfulness.

According to President Obama, Mitt Romney needs to be accountable (“Pinocchio for President!” Editorial, Oct. 5).

Here’s a reminder, Mr. President: Romney has not been leading our country these past four years.

What about accountability for the things Obama has done?

What a difference a day makes.

The president was silent at the debate. Romney spoke out, contradicting him on many counts in order to set the record straight.

Now the president is back on the campaign trail in front of Obama-friendly crowds, joking, laughing, beating the same drum from the last three years and criticizing Romney.

This president does not like and can’t take criticism; I think we all saw that at the debate.

Republicans were ecstatic to see a compassionate, conservative Romney at the debate against Obama.

They were pleased by his performance and declared him the winner.

But Romney lied over and over again, disavowing everything he has stood for during his campaign.

According to liberals, Republicans are reinventing Romney by telling people he is not what anti-Romney attack ads claimed he is.

He did not kill a woman, abuse a dog or bully a gay student in high school. He is a man who was a success in his endeavors and can debate anyone without the assistance of a crutch — a TelepPromTer.

The nation sees that Romney is not only more capable, he’s likable. But now Democrats say he’s a liar?

If someone does not fulfill a multitude of promises, can’t you call him a liar? J. Van Acken
