School film’s flaws

The Post has a right to endorse the movie “Won’t Back Down” (“Hollywood’s Teachable Moment,” Editorial, Oct. 7) and its anti-union message.

But why not step back and consider the near-universal criticism by movie critics who noted the film’s significant flaws, rather than scapegoat the American Federation of Teachers and the United Federation of Teachers?

Teachers, supported by parents and the community, fight for what children need — small class sizes, art, music, libraries and more nurses, social workers and counselors in schools.

We share the film’s sense of urgency to give all kids a high-quality education, but not its false stereotype of teachers and their unions.
