He didn’t rape her — she was already dead, the accused murderer of a beautiful Italian college student is set to tell a Manhattan jury.
The sickening revelation was made at a pretrial hearing yesterday in the case of Bakary Camara, accused of slashing Rita Morelli to death in her new boyfriend’s bed in Harlem last November.
Camara had made the claim to shrinks, telling the doctors, “He had had sex with Miss Morelli after he killed her,” prosecutor Evan Krutoy revealed.
Also yesterday, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan set this morning for another pretrial hearing — this one to determine whether defense lawyer Seema Iyer can call a Bronx-based imam as an expert witness to tell jurors that Camara believed he was compelled by an evil curse to kill Morelli.
