Mom-ager Kris Jenner gets talk show tryout

Throw another Kardashian on the pile.

Kris Jenner, the tireless “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” matriarch and mom-ager of the clan’s $65-million business empire, is working on a daily talk show for Fox, according to reports.

Jenner, 56, has been hankering for her own talk show for some time — and has not been shy about saying so.

She’s appeared all over daytime TV since the family’s reality show became a hit — guest-hosting on “The View,” the fourth hour of the “Today” show and the CBS daytime show “The Talk.”

Still, Jenner — apparently fearing she might spoil a deal she desperately wanted — tried yesterday to keep the talk-show news under wraps.

A publicist for Jenner’s company at first flatly denied a talk-show deal, telling a reporter: “Absolutely not true. Not sure where you heard that.”

By afternoon, as news of the tryout began to leak out on gossip Web sites, the red-faced rep admitted that Jenner “has been in discussions for two years to do a talk show.”

The as-yet-untitled show will likely get a test run for several weeks next summer on Ch. 5 here, as well as Fox-owned stations around the country.

Fox (which, like The Post, is owned by News Corp.) has been trying to find a popular daytime talk show for years.

While it has had some success with Wendy Williams, similar tryouts with Craig Kilborn, Fran Drescher and Mike Huckabee died after short auditions.

Last July, Jenner leaked to the gossip sites that she was “very interested” in hosting a daytime talk show with Khloe Kardashian as part of the family’s $40 million deal with E!

But now that Khloe is set to become a co-host — with Mario Lopez — of Simon Cowell’s “The X Factor” starting next month, Kris appears ready to move on solo.

Both E! and Ryan Seacrest, who produces the Kardashians reality show, elected not to participate in the new show, officials said yesterday.
