Pot eyed in LI slay teen driver

Investigators suspect the teen driver who lost control of his car on a Long Island highway and slammed into trees, killing his four friends, “was high” on pot and “driving way too fast,” a law-enforcement source said yesterday.

“We believe it was pot, and we are awaiting test results,” the law enforcement source said, citing evidence at the scene.

Joseph Beer, 17, who had just a learner’s permit, was the only survivor of the crash on Monday on the Southern State Parkway in Malverne.

His friends Chris Khan, Neal Rajapa, Peter Anthony and Darian Ramnarin, all 18, were killed. Khan’s dad, Somdat Bhawn, said, “It makes me very angry,” after being told Beer might have been on drugs.

The criminal probe will examine a “black box” in Beer’s turbo-charged 2012 Suburu Imprezza that could reveal his speeds before crashing.
