The town house where Dominique Strauss-Kahn lived while facing sexual-assault charges last year has sold for $10.5 million.
Broker Robert Dvorin told the Wall Street Journal that the “world-wide attention and exposure to the property” helped the sale of the three-story building.
Four buyers competed for the property, which sold last week. It had been on the market for three years.
Strauss-Khan paid $60,000-a-month for the town house while under house arrest. The former International Monetary Fund chief wore an electronic monitoring bracelet during his three-month stay there.
A hotel maid had accused him of sexually assaulting her. He was released after prosecutors said the maid made false statements. The charges were eventually dropped and Strauss-Khan returned to France.
The maid is pursuing the charges in civil court.
