Mo’s under cover

Gotta Go to Mo’s? “Undercover Boss” is about to take you there.

Modell’s CEO Mitchell Modell will star in the Nov. 2 season premiere of “Undercover Boss” — the CBS reality show in which corporate heads go in disguise to work side-by-side with their employees, getting an up-close-and-personal look at what really happens in the trenches (and what they’re saying about the boss).

In the premiere, Modell, who normally has a full head of hair and is clean-shaven, dons a disguise in which he sports glasses, a shaved head and a big walrus mustache.

Modell runs the sporting goods giant, which was founded in 1889 in lower Manhattan and now encompasses more than 150 sporting goods stores in the tri-state area — and has expanded to several other states in the Northeast (it’s headquartered in Times Square).

Modell’s is believed to be the third-oldest sports goods chain in the country — and its ubiquitous ad jingle, “Gotta Go to Mo’s,” is one of the best-known catchphrases in the industry.

“Undercover Boss” is replacing the now-canceled drama, “Made in Jersey,” which was axed after only two low-rated episodes.

“Undercover Boss,” which premiered in February 2010 after the Super Bowl, has featured the bosses of NASCAR, Chiquita and DirecTV, among others.
