Trump blames Jeter’s injury, A-Rod struggles on not living in apartments he owns

This theory on the Yankees really Trumps them all.

According to Donald Trump the Yankees’ ALCS struggles directly correlate to their stars not living in the Park Avenue apartment buildings that he owns.

“Derek Jeter has a great career until 3 days ago when he sold his apartment at Trump World Tower- I told him not to sell- karma?” Trump tweeted on Monday.

Jeter sold his apartment on the 88th floor of the UN Plaza Trump Tower last week to Brazilian businessman Claudio Ferro for $15.5 million, days before sufferimg a season-ending fractured ankle in the Yankees’ 6-4 12-inning loss to the Tigers in Game 1 of the ALCS.

“Lots of response on Derek—but I told him his apartment was lucky! – We love Derek,” Trump wrote later in the day.

Jeter wasn’t the only Yankees player to draw criticism from Trump, who unlike the Bombers, was on the offensive Monday.

“A-Rod was a great player when he lived at Trump Park Avenue—even though he was on the juice,” Trump tweeted.

Rodriguez is currently hitting .130 (3-for-23) this postseason and was benched by manager Joe Girardi in the decisive Game 5 of the ALDS against Baltimore.

“A-Rod is just not making it,” Trump tweeted. “We want to give him a chance but it was only drugs that made him great.”

The Donald even thinks that Rodriguez has been so bad that he should give back a portion of the mammoth 10-year $275 million contract he signed with the Yankees after the 2007 season. Rodriguez is making $29 million this season and is under contract with the team until 2017.

“A-Rod should donate his contract to charity,” Trump tweeted. “He doesn’t make the @yankees any money and he doesn’t perform. He is a $30M/yr rip off.”

While Trump relentlessly ripped Rodriguez, who as The Post exclusively reported on Tuesday was hitting on two female fans after being pinch-hit for during Game 1, he did backtrack and wished the slugger luck tonight against Justin Verlander in Game 3.

“I hope A-Rod has a great night for the Yankees—he owes it to them—especially with Derek hurt,” Trump wrote.
