Cops arrest four in SI high school football attack

Police nabbed four people who attacked a young man after a Staten Island high school football game, authorities said.

Timmie Kelson, 54, and his son Timmie Kelson, Jr., 27, as well as daughter Mercedes Kelson, 20, and pal Kenneth Williams, 20, allegedly approached Jordan Taylor, 20, at the Curtis High School game after a previous argument he had with Mercedes, police sources said.

The victim had several prior arrests on his rap sheet, including two assault collars, sources said. Mercedes had been cuffed as well recently, including an arrest for possession of crack cocaine, sources added.

When he wouldn’t talk, the four waited for him outside the gates of the game, and began kicking and punching him at the northeast corner of Hamilton Avenue and Saint Mark’s Place, according to a law-enforcement source. One then allegedly stabbed him in the right side of his stomach.

Taylor was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center and treated for a punctured lung, cops said.

The four were charged with gang assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and assault, according to a spokesman for D.A. Dan Donovan.
