Violent cabdriver is cut off

A cabby was stripped of his license after Midtown security cameras caught him getting physical with a rider.

Sidikiba Diallo, a taxi driver for 20 years, testified that passenger Glenn Yonemitsu was drunk when he hopped into Diallo’s cab at 3 a.m. April 8 in front of the Ichi Umi restaurant on East 32nd Street at Fifth Avenue.

Administrative-law Judge Tynia Richard accepted that assessment after Yonemitsu admitted he had been drinking for three hours with friends.

But Richard said even if Yonemitsu turned abusive when he couldn’t get home to Sunnyside, as Diallo claimed, there was no excuse to get physical.

“While it is possible Mr. Yonemitsu kicked respondent, spat on him, cursed at him, vomited in his cab, or some combination of those acts — as respondent testified —. . . none would justify a physical assault, which in this case included . . . throwing [Yonemitsu] into the middle of the street onto the concrete pavement,” she said.
