DETROIT — Yesterday was a tough one for the baseball and Hollywood marriage of Nick Swisher and JoAnna Garcia.
Hours before Swisher’s Yankees got swept out of the American League Championship Series by the Tigers, Garcia learned that her NBC sitcom, “Animal Practice,” was canceled.
“Sad day for the @AnimalPractice family,” Garcia wrote on Twitter. “Thank u to all the amazing of our amazing supporters & fans!”
She tweeted that just a minute or so after Swisher, who endured an absolutely brutal fourth straight postseason for the Yankees, struck out looking to end a first-and-second, two-out rally for the Yankees in the top of the third inning.
VOTE: WHICH YANKS SHOULD STAY OR GO?
Swisher is a free agent now and very likely will not return to the Yankees, who enjoyed his production but grew tired of his act. Garcia, meanwhile, is now a free agent, as well.
