This week’s couple: Meat up

AMBER, 28, chose Nate, 29, because like her, he’s a cycling enthusiast. But no sooner did they sit down for their date at Via Tribunali in the Lower East Side did they discover they also both enjoy beer and meat — lots of meat. So, did they ride away with a bad taste in their mouths or are they going to meet again somewhere down the road?

He said:

I arrived early, because you never know when a woman is going to be on time for a date. Amber arrived shortly after me and my first thought was, “She’s very cute.”

Via Tribunali was great for a date; small and intimate. We decided to share pizza, and when she asked for a lot of meat, I couldn’t help but chime in with a “that’s what she said” retort. In general, she was very easy to talk to and had a great laugh, which I got to hear a lot.

We also talked about our mutual interest in biking and love for the outdoors.

I definitely plan to see Amber again. She is a beautiful and feisty woman, full of life and energy.

She said:

Nate was already at our table when I arrived. My first impression was, “He’s cute!” He was energetic, funny, talkative and kept me laughing.

Nate and I found weird connections. He’s a sound engineer, and actually worked on my favorite musical, “Rent.” Aside from that, we both bike to work, enjoy dive bars, outdoor activities, basketball and comics.

We shared a pizza with sausage and pepperoni, plus a couple Peronis because Nate’s a meat eater who enjoys beer (perfect!). But we hardly ate it because we were chatting so much.

I didn’t ask Nate the generic questions typical of a first date — a testament to our natural chemistry. We were in the restaurant for four hours! We exchanged numbers and I’m going to see him again!
