New York Aquarium suffers severe flooding during Sandy

Officials say New York Aquarium on Coney Island experienced severe flooding from the storm.

A spokeswoman for the Wildlife Conservation Society says the entire 14-acre facility was under water. She said it will assess the extent of the damage once the water recedes.

The WCS’s four zoos — the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo and Queens Zoo — did not appear to have suffered serious damage.
