Knicks-Heat prices flat after hurricane

Now that the defending champion Miami Heat serve as the season opener tomorrow at the Garden, are ticket prices going through its pinwheeled ceiling?

Not yet. In fact, you can cop them for a relative bargain, according to Yves Darbouze, who runs a Brooklyn-based secondary ticket outlet, Charged.fm. Hurricane Sandy still is wielding its might.

“Some people are gunshy in the secondary market now,” Darbouze said. “They’re worried they can’t get to the game. This year’s opener is nowhere near where it should be. Sandy has thrown everything off.”

Darbouze said his site alone has nearly 100 tickets left and a total of 2,604 are floating on secondary markets for just one-third higher than face value.

“Last year’s opener was sold out on the secondary market days before the game,” Darbouze said. “Our inventory is just sitting there.”

The 2,604 tickets range from $191 to $1,352, very low for a Garden season opener. Prices could spike, however, if good news is announced with the transit system, Darbouze said.

Fans with tickets for tonight’s postponed Nets-Knicks opener at Barclays Center can use them for the undetermined makeup date. Darbouze said it is too early to tell the price market for the makeup game now as customers are confused. Some fans have traveled in from Florida and other countries and are awaiting to hear a new date.
