’Frisco flop

San Francisco’s World Series win left viewers cold.

The Giants’ four-game sweep of Detroit averaged 12.7 million viewers on Fox, down from the 16.5 million who watched last year’s seven-game thriller won by the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Giants’ Sunday-night clincher, a 4-3 victory in 10 innings, averaged 15.5 million viewers — 10 million viewers less than last year’s Game 7.

That was due partly to NBC’s Sunday-night NFL game — a 29-24 Big Blue victory over Dallas — and to viewers watching news coverage of Hurricane Sandy.
