NBA: Nash out with small fracture in leg

Steve Nash has a small fracture in his left leg and will be out of the Lakers’ lineup for at least another week.

The team announced the results of the point guard’s MRI exam yesterday. Nash suffered a small fracture to his fibula in a collision with Trail Blazers rookie Damian Lillard on Wednesday night. He missed the Lakers’ 105-95 loss to the Clippers on Friday, when the Los Angeles dropped to 0-3 for the first time in 34 years.

Hornets coach Monty Williams blasted the league’s protocols for determining when a player can return from a concussion, a day after No. 1 draft pick Anthony Davis suffered a mild one.

Williams unloaded before last night’s game in Chicago, saying, “Now, they treat everybody like they have white gloves and pink drawers, and it’s getting old.”

GOLF: Westwood, Oosthuizen share lead

Lee Westwood shot an 11-under 61 for a share of the third-round lead with Louis Oosthuizen in the HSBC Champions in Shenzhen, China.

Oosthuizen came into the weekend with a five-stroke lead over the field, but struggled with his putting and had a 70.

Westwood and Oosthuizen were at 18-under 198. Phil Mickelson was three stroke back after a 66.

In Scottsdale, Ariz., Tom Lehman took the lead in the Charles Schwab Cup Championship and moved closer to becoming the first player to win the season points title two straight years.

Lehman birdied the final hole for an 8-under 62 and a one-stroke lead over Fred Couples in the Champions Tour’s season-ending event. Couples also shot a 62.

In Shima, Japan, South Korea’s Lee Bo-mee shot an 8-under 64 to take a four-stroke lead after the second round of the Mizuno Classic. Lee had a 10-under 134 total. Japan’s Rikako Morita was second after a 68.

Stenhouse Jr., Sadler to for N’wide points lead

In Fort Worth, Texas, Kevin Harvick became a five-time NASCAR Nationwide winner at Texas, leading 127 of 200 laps. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. had the most important finish, battling an ill-handling car that slid around the track all night and still managed to finish fourth.

That got his No. 6 Roush Fenway Ford even with Elliott Sadler for the Nationwide points lead with two races remaining.

Milt Campbell, who became the first black to win the Olympic decathlon in 1956, has died after a battle with prostate cancer. He was 78.

The Colts said running back Donald Brown is questionable for today’s game against Miami with knee swelling.

In Halle, Germany, German cruiserweight Marco Huck successfully retained the WBO title for the 10th time with a unanimous decision win over compatriot Firat Arslan,
