Lipo doc’s license sucked away

A fat-zapping doctor whose liposuction killed a Manhattan woman is too dangerous to practice, officials say.

The state Health Department yanked the license of Dr. Oleg Davie, a Brooklyn and Manhattan cosmetic surgeon — calling him an “imminent danger” to patients.

The Post reported in July that Davie performed a $3,200 “Smart Lipo” procedure on Isel Pineda, 51, a heart-transplant patient of TV star Dr. Mehmet Oz, causing her to go into cardiac arrest.

The state says Davie should never have performed the cosmetic surgery– in which a laser melts and sucks out fat — on a heart patient. The anesthesia can cause the heart to overload, beat rapidly or shut down, experts say.

The state Office of Professional Medical Conduct accused Davie of gross negligence, incompetence and fraud. He allegedly kept “false records with intent to deceive” in two botched liposuctions.

In the other case, Davie operated on another patient who did not meet the criteria for liposuction, the state alleged. He broke a vessel, causing the patient to lose four units of blood, but failed to send her to the hospital in a timely manner.

The disciplinary action comes amid a criminal probe of Davie by the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office, which seized records from his office.

Pineda, a vivacious businesswoman, was proud of her heart transplant, posting it on her Facebook page. Family lawyer Michael Fruhling says she filled out an intake form for Davie disclosing her condition, but after her death Davie’s office produced a form with no mention of it.

”Davie has been cashing in with clinics at two locations with no worries in the world. He took my sister’s life away and destroyed our family,” said her brother, Marni.

Davie was already on probation by the OPMC, which found him guilty of negligence and false reports in seven previous cases. It limited his practice to minor procedures such as wart removal and Botox.

He did not return a call for comment.
