More Ariel drama

Chrisoula “Chris” Workman has fired back at claims she abused her daughter, 14-year-old “Modern Family” co-star Ariel Winter.

“I love my daughter very much. I would never abuse her in any way and I have always tried to protect her and do what is right for her,” Workman said in a statement obtained by E! News.

Winter has been living with her older sister, Shanelle Gray. An LA judge granted Gray temporary custody of Winter after Gray claimed that Workman was physically and verbally abusing Winter.

Gray, 34, has been estranged from Workman since her late teens, after accusing her mother of alleged abuse.

Workman says Gray has “come out of the woodwork” only now because Winter — who plays middle child Alex Dunphy on “Modern Family” — got a big pay raise last summer.

“She has only seen her little sister maybe 10 times in the last fourteen years, they have no relationship and her motives are . . . out of spite,” Workman said.
