This week’s couple: Way too hot

ON THE NIGHT Mark, 27, and Lex, 30, met for their date, NYC was hit with the first big snowstorm of the season. Still, the two Brooklynites braved the elements to meet at SoHo’s tony West Indian eatery, Miss Lily’s. Once Mark and Lex made it out of the cold, did things remain icy between them or did they warm up toward one another?

He said:

I thought the snow storm was a sign of how this date was going to go. But then I saw Lex. She was cute, dressed warm with warm colors and smiled when our eyes met so that was a plus.

We kept the conversation PG-13. I gave her tips on “guy code” and we discussed texting since she’s not a huge fan.

Miss Lily’s was great, especially the music. I almost wanted to get up and dance at one point! We both ordered the spicy shrimp. I said I could handle it, but man, that shrimp had me sweating, struggling to breathe. Of course she laughed and I tried too as well, but it hurt.

Lex is amazing. And even though I want to see her again, I couldn’t see it going any further than friendship. But she will make a lucky man very happy one day.

She said:

I didn’t have an image of Mark in mind before the date, so I didn’t have a reaction upon meeting him.

Mark was entertaining. We spent half the evening discussing genders and how men and women think. He shared tips that were hilarious. It was like we were holding a dating clinic in a class for two.

Some of the food was too spicy for Mark, but not me, so I got to tease him about that. But he shared a bite of his chocolate rum cake with me

It didn’t seem to go the direction of a second date since we didn’t exchange numbers, but he gave me his card. We hugged and parted with smiles.
