Science radio showdown

The long-running National Public Radio show “Science Friday” is trying to make a creationist knockoff go the way of the dinosaur.

In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, the show’s producers, Sciencefriday Inc., say the trademark on their 21-year-old show has been jeopardized by a Colorado radio talk show host’s “Real Science Friday” program.

“Don’t be fooled by NPR’s parody titled Science Friday:),” the show’s Web site says. That show, hosted by Bob Enyart and Fred Williams, features the duo talking about “science to debunk evolution and show the evidence for the creator God including from biology, geology, astronomy and physics.”

Enyart told The Post he’s been doing the show since at least 2006. He said he received a “very polite letter” from “Science Friday” host Ira Flatow a few years ago asking him to change the name of his show, but he never responded.
