Spy’s the limit for 007

LOS ANGELES — James Bond’s “Skyfall” has extended its global box-office rule to North America, hauling in a franchise record $87.8 million in its first weekend at US theaters.

Adding in the take from Thursday previews, the film has netted $90 million here, studio estimates show. Its worldwide total hit $518.6 million. “Skyfall” bumped “Wreck-It Ralph” to No. 2 with $33.1 million, while “Flight” landed the No. 3 spot with $15.1 million.
