An Israeli pilot was busted at Kennedy Airport for trying to bring a retractable baton onto a flight, officials said yesterday.
Shay Givony was headed to his El Al Airlines flight at around 10:15 p.m. Saturday when security at Terminal 4 spotted the weapon stashed in his luggage, the officials added.
Givony, 40, was arrested by Port Authority police and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
The Israeli resident was awaiting arraignment last night in Queens Criminal Court, said a spokesman for the Queens District Attorney’s Office.
The airline did not immediately return requests for comment.
