Lindsay switch: Babs to Leno

Human car-wreck Lindsay Lohan bailed out on her interview with Barbara Walters — but she now has agreed to sit with Jay Leno on the “Tonight Show” instead.

Lohan is contractually obligated to do one TV interview to promote her controversial Lifetime movie “Liz & Dick,” set to air a week from Sunday.

When her new publicists, the longtime celebrity p.r. firm Roger and Cowen, canceled the sitdown with Walters on “20/20,” they offered her to Leno late last week, according to reports.

The firm was apparently worried that Walters would ask questions about her latest brush with the law, allegations that she lied to cops about who was driving her car following an accident in LA last summer.

Lohan’s publicist of the last two years quit last week and the decision to kill the Walters appearance was made by her new press reps.

Lohan plays Elizabeth Taylor in the biographical movie about the movie star’s tempestuous relationship with Richard Burton.

Walters has been uncharacteristically mum about the snub, so far.

Lohan is set to appear on Leno a week from tomorrow, Nov. 20.
