In some cultures, it’s better than seventh heaven

The number eight has long been considered a powerful symbol in cultures and religions around the world.

* It’s the luckiest number in Chinese culture. Pronounced “ba,” it sounds similar to “fa,” which means to make a fortune.

* Buddhists’ enlightenment path has eight paths.

* Muslims believe that there are seven hells, but eight paradises, signifying God’s mercy.

* In ancient Babylonia, it was associated with paradise. There were seven spheres plus an eighth realm, where the gods lived.

* In Christianity, eight symbolizes the resurrection of Jesus Christ. After six days of creation and one day of rest comes the eighth day.

* Some believe means a phase of your life is about to end, and is a warning to prepare.

* In Kabbalah, it’s symbolic of an entity that is one step above the natural order, higher than nature and its limitations. It says that’s why Hanukkah is eight days long.

* In Hinduism, it symbolizes wealth and abundance.
