DHAKA, Bangladesh — At least 112 people perished here Saturday in a garment-factory fire reminiscent of the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory blaze that killed 146 workers — the deadliest industrial disaster in New York City history.
The factory, run by Tazreen Fashions Ltd., supplies Walmart, Ikea and other Western retailers.
A government official yesterday charged that the eight-story building had no emergency exits.
