Killed for being too loud: Gunman fatally shoots one man, wounds another on Staten Island over noise

One man is dead and another is fighting for his life after they were shot in a Staten Island apartment building early this morning, police sources said.

The bloodshed in Port Richmond was sparked by an earlier fight and came to a head when the victims, 20 and 21, returned to their first-floor apartment on Bodine Street around 6 a.m., sources said.

An occupant living in a third-floor apartment confronted Joseph Brown, 20, and Jamal Porter, 21, for allegedly assaulting a relative, neighbors said. The beef is part of an ongoing dispute, sources added.

The argument escalated and gunfire broke out.

Brown, known as ‘Joe Blood,’ was blasted once in the back and died, sources said.

“We were hanging out just the other day. He is a good kid,” said pal Angel Arroyo.

Porter, who goes by ‘Chuck,’ was hit in the stomach and rushed to Richmond University Medical Center, where he is in critical condition, sources added.

The shooter fled from the building and is still at large, police said.

Residents on the block said the house always hosts large, rowdy parties and that cops are frequently called to the location.
