Kidd is almost ‘back’

Meet me in Miami.

Jason Kidd said yesterday his goal is to make his return sometime on next week’s road trip — possibly Thursday in the rematch in Miami — after an MRI exam showed no further damage.

Kidd missed his third straight game last night — a Knicks’ 108-87 romp over the Wizards — because of back spasms. He revealed he underwent an MRI exam and it didn’t show anything significant. Kidd, 39, did back-strengthening exercises on the court during Friday morning shootaround and put up shots.

“I hope so,’’ Kidd said of playing on the three-game road trip. “That’s the plan — to get me back out there sometime next week. I feel great. A lot better as the week’s gone on. That’s the goal is to be 100 percent when you come back. No need to rush. … We’ll see how I feel [today].’’

Kidd is expected to miss tomorrow’s game vs. the Suns — his fourth in a row. The Knicks embark on a three-game road trip — Wednesday in Charlotte, Thursday in Miami and Saturday in Chicago. It would make sense not to use him on both ends of the back to back and save him for South Beach. The Knicks beat the defending-champion Heat on opening night at the Garden.

Kidd missed four games last season with Dallas because of a lower back strain, but this was different. He said he was feeling no pain until this week.

“It just came on,’’ Kidd said. “It just happened. When you play, you’re going to have bumps and bruises.’’ This is the second time this happened, I’m doing exactly the same thing with treatment.’’

Missing the historic game in Brooklyn Monday was difficult for Kidd, a Nets legend.

“It was tough because the guys played well,’’ Kidd said. “We had an opportunity to win the game on the road. It was tough to watch. But it was a lesson learned.’’

For his part, coach Mike Woodson said he’s not sure about Kidd’s status. “We’re taking it day-to-day,’’ he said.
