Giantz blitz

HERO

Eli Manning was the man leading the Giants out of their November doldrums. Manning, who had gone three straight games without a touchdown pass, threw three of them — and the last was good for career TD No. 200, passing Phil Simms for the top spot in team history. Manning finished 16-for-30 for 249 yards.

UNSUNG HERO

Giants linebacker Chase Blackburn was all over the field, with a big sack of Aarong Rodgers late in the first half and a pass breakup in the end zone intended for tight end Jermichael Finley late in the third quarter. Blackburn finished with six tackles and was the best defensive player on the field.

ZERO

Aaron Rodgers, who entered the game as the highest-rated quarterback in the league and the hottest, too, but looked out of sync all night against the Giants defense. Rodgers finished with uncharacteristic pedestrian numbers — 14-of-25 for 219 yards, one TD, one INT and an 81.9 rating.

KEY STATISTIC

5 Sacks by Perry Fewell’s defense. Mathias Kiwanuka had two and Osi Umenyiora forced a fumble with his. Blackburn and Chris Canty had the others.
