Animal Planet host Dave Salmoni has danced with wolves — but now he’s getting up-close-and-personal with . . . wait for it . . . ants.
In tonight’s episode of “Frontier Earth,” the acclaimed zoologist tackles the ants inhabiting the Arizona Badlands.
Prior to watching the episode, Salmoni said he was less than enthused.
“I don’t want to watch a documentary on a bunch of bugs, but I will because it’s my job and I was blown away by it,” he says. “I was so amazed by it. I’m an ant expert now, in my own humble opinion.”
The six-part “Frontier Earth” focuses on different animals each week. Upcoming episodes feature Komodo dragons, tigers, leopards and lemurs.
