The 5-year-old girl whose lung was pierced by a stray bullet outside her family’s Bronx apartment had to undergo more surgery yesterday — as the teenage neighbor who allegedly shot her was arraigned on attempted-murder charges.
Little Hailey Dominguez underwent her third surgery since the early-Sunday shooting and was listed in critical but stable condition, in a medically induced coma, at New-York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in Manhattan.
“She’s doing good,” said her mother’s boyfriend, Edwin Roman, who was among those keeping vigil at Hailey’s bedside.
Meanwhile, glowering alleged gunman Angel Morales, 18, wearing a blue hoodie and gray sweat pants, was hauled before a judge.
He didn’t speak and showed no emotion as he was charged with attempted murder and weapon possession and held on $200,000 bond or $100,000 cash bail.
Morales has at least three priors — one for pot possession, one for assault and another that is sealed.
Several boxes of .40-caliber, .357-caliber and 9mm ammo — along with a small plastic bag of marijuana and several empty glassine containers — were found at Morales’ home after the shooting, according to the criminal complaint.
Morales’ lawyer, Trudy Strassburger, had argued that her client should be released, insisting that “he’s known in the neighborhood as a good kid.’’
She produced a list of 10 signatures from people in his Bronx neighborhood vouching for his character.
Prosecutors said three witnesses identified Morales as the shooter using a photo array. One of the three also identified Morales in a lineup.
Morales allegedly fired off three shots at three different men who were standing on the street near the Hughes Avenue building where Hailey, mom Gloria Miranda and two siblings had just arrived home by cab from a family baby shower around 1 a.m.
The shooting was in retaliation for a fistfight that had broken out between Morales’ pals and another group on Friday, sources said — meaning that Hailey and her family were not the intended targets.
Roman said he recognized Morales from being in the neighborhood.
The incident was caught on video.
Morales was arrested at his grandmother’s home nearby.
