Bring on Buble

Canadian singer Michael Bublé has a voice made to sing Christmas carols — it’s smooth as the rum in your holiday eggnog.

“Michael’s Christmas album that he released last year was the second-largest selling CD of any music of any kind all year,” says Brad Lachman, executive producer of “Michael Bublé: Home for the Holidays.”

That’s why for the second year in a row Bublé is starring in his own Christmas special, shot in his hometown of Vancouver. Bublé will sing a medley of carols with Rod Stewart, Elmo and fellow Canadian Carly Rae Jepsen (left). She will join Bublé and Blake Shelton on their mutual hit, “Home.” All together, Bublé will perform nine songs, says Lachman, including a duet with Bing Crosby.

“He’s always been one of Michael’s idols,” says Lachman. “We took a performance in which Crosby sings ‘White Christmas’ in 1971 and had Michael sing with him. We had fantastic special effects people do this and it really looks great.”

The show kicks off with Bublé arriving in Vancouver on a sea plane, and then visiting his favorite places.

“He’s an avid hockey player so we shot him at the rink and we also shot him singing while driving the Zamboni,” says Lachman.

Bublé’s entire family also poses for a photo. “At the end of the show he sings a final song and dedicates it to his family,” says Lachman.

“People love Christmas music — it invokes great memories of families together,” says Lachman. “And Michael is perfect for this sort of thing. He’s so warm, charming and comfortable.”
